This home in Marion NY was finished with cedar clapboard siding in 1957. The homeowners, Sandy and Mark, wanted to update the home with new vinyl siding. He also wanted to secure it better with a few new windows.
Dennis met with the family and talked with them about their wants and needs when it came to updating their home. The home itself had a unique look to it and Dennis wanted to make sure that it was accented appropriatley.
Mark and Sandy chose a dutchlap profile for their new siding and for it to be a 'deep granite' color. This grey/blue color would stand out well against the white sunroom on the south side of the house and the white trim on the windows. The choice of upgrading to Monogram siding gave them more strength in the product itself. The stronger the siding the cleaner the lines and the better protected the home is from damages and outside elements.
In addition to new siding, the homeowners chose to replace twelve windows in their home. The majority of the windows would be VWD double hung's but the large living room window is a combination of 3 Marvin Integrity windows.
As the project progressed and after the windows were installed, the owner of Marshall Exteriors went to the home to check on progress and to meet the homeowners. Adam enjoys meeting with homeowners and looking at the small details of a project. As he stood and looked at the house he saw an opportunity to improve the look a bit more. Because the sunroom is white and the area below the sunroom was becoming a beautiful deep granite color, he recommended having the lower part of the new gutters be a matching grey color.
Speaking of small details, when another member of #TeamMarshall was onsite he saw that the electrical cables were attached to the home in an old bulky way. He suggested that the new gable vents be added right after the electric was reconnected. This way RG&E had an opportunity to use a smaller style connection and the fascia could be tied in nicely to have a cleaner look.
Now the home has new windows, siding and gutters and is ready to handle anything the upstate NY weather throws at it.
