The homeowners decided that it was time that several updates were necessary for their home. Their first concern was making sure that the home was properly insulated. The amount of insulation matters when trying to reduce the cost of utility bills while staying comfortable. Once the comfort level is addressed the homeowners wanted to update the old clap board siding with a more maintenance free solution.
Adam, the Project Estimator, did a complete assessment of the floors, walls, windows, ceilings, basement, attic and roof using Thermal Imaging. The camera confirmed the homeowner’s suspicions of major air leaks. The homeowners chose to start their project by having blown in cellulose insulation added to the attic. Then the window crew installed 31 replacement windows with Low E and Argon gas creating a more energy efficient space.. In addition, the crew converted an unused door in the garage to a double hung window. With the windows in place, the home was ready to be prepped for siding. The siding crew installed insulated foam board backing which also added R-value while creating a smooth surface for the new siding. Next the house was wrapped in 2621 square feet of vinyl siding. The homeowners chose to replace the shutters on the front of the home to complement the siding and add curb appeal. Completing the project, new seamless gutters and downspouts were added to whisk water away from the new siding.
